2011 Kia Sportage ALG Residual Value Rating
2011 Kia Sportage ALG Residual Value Rating

Written by himi on August 7th, 2010 at www.kia-world.netwww.kia-world.net - Submitted by Dan at Metro KiaMetro Kia.

American automotive data provider ALG has declared that 2011 Kia Sportage  has the highest residual value rating in the compact CUV section. The outstanding rating of 61-percent of original MSRP for 3 years of ownership has made 2011 Kia Sportage stand in the league of BMW and Subaru.

The 2011 Kia Sportage Residual Value is 20 point more than 2010 model, which is remarkable leap in the automotive industry. This compact utility vehicle has created a benchmark in the history of Kia Motors by attaining the highest residual value rating the company has ever received for any vehicle from ALG.

The high Residual Value Rating from ALG of new Kia Sportage have definitely added to the brand value of Kia Motors and will probably increase demand for the vehicle. Apart from the Kia Sportage Residual Value, the new 2011 model has a first-rate design and is equipped with the latest technology. Continue ReadingContinue Reading

The Cracked Peppercorn is so proud to able to provide Healthy, Hot and Yummy meals to the students at Connaught Elementary. We would love to expand the program to more schools in Medicine Hat. Please see the attached menu for this Fall for the students at Connaught. We deliver to the school each day at no extra charge. You can have a Hot, Nutritious lunch delivered to your child for only $5.00 per day or $22.50, if you order for the whole 5 day week. We will rotate this menu for the children. Please call your school and let them know this is a valuable program to have.

Thanks for your support. As parents ourselves, we understand the importance of a hot meal on a cold Alberta Day, we also remember what a nuisance making lunches every night was.  Let us do it for you.

What is a RRSP? Part 1
What is a RRSP? Part 1

Article by Stephen Maser of Raymond JamesStephen Maser of Raymond James

RRSP stands for Registered Retirement Savings Plan and there are a lot of misconceptions surrounding this type account and how they work.  In this article I will explain how exactly they help Canadians in retirement planning, how they use deferral of taxes on the growth of your investments and what they should not be used for.

Opinions of RRSP accounts can differ greatly depending on who you ask.  Some investors will say that they are a terrible way to save and some believe that the money you take out of them is tax free.  Before opening a RRSP it is important to have a basic understanding of what they are and the proper use of them.

Finding a Financial Advisor
					Finding a Financial Advisor

Article by Stephen Maser of Raymond JamesStephen Maser of Raymond James

The primary concern I hear from people is the need for financial advice and where to find it. There are many places to find an opinion, from the internet, TV, magazines and newspapers, however trying to sift through that maze of information can be overwhelming. You need to find answers to your financial needs and that first step should be a financial advisor.

While all the outlets mentioned can vary in the quality of their advice, the advice given could be damaging if you’re unsure what financial planning entails. Here are some quick ideas to find a professional to help you with planning your financial future:

Honda Is Named As Canada’s Best ‘Mainstream Brand’ For Residual Value
Honda Is Named As Canada’s Best ‘Mainstream Brand’ For Residual Value

Honda Canada Inc. received top honours from ALG as the winner of the “Mainstream Brand Residual Value Award” as part of ALG’s Canadian Residual Value Awards that honour vehicles that are predicted to retain the highest percentage of their original price after a conventional retail lease.

Honda was ranked the best overall brand out of 19 mainstream automotive brands in Canada. Acura, the luxury division of Honda Canada Inc., received a second-place award in the Luxury Brand Residual Value category, placing ahead of 11 other luxury brand competitors.

The awards are based on 2009 model year vehicles. The awards are derived after carefully studying segment competition, historical vehicle performance and industry trends, and are based on analysis using only Canada-specific data. ALG, based in Santa Barbara, California, provides data and consulting services to the automotive industry and publishes the “Automotive Lease Guide” in both Canada and the U.S. Continue ReadingContinue Reading

Refinancing Your Mortgage – Why, How and When
Refinancing Your Mortgage – Why, How and When

Article submitted by Tony Zuback tony.zuback@investorsgroup.com

You may be thinking about refinancing your mortgage. Mortgage rates are fairly low right now, so why not take advantage of them? But is that really a good idea? Let’s take a closer look at the why, how and when of mortgage refinancing.

Why refinance?

  • Get a mortgage at a lower rate than your current mortgage.
  • Reduce payments – restructuring your current mortgage and paying it off over a longer period can reduce your monthly cash flow obligations.
  • Consolidate debt by increasing your mortgage – to obtain a lower interest rate than conventional loans or credit cards, lower overall monthly payments, and lengthen the repayment period (mortgages can be amortized up to 25 years).
  • Improve cash flow – to make monthly payments or balance your budget.
  • Equity take-out – that can be used for anything you wish, from renovations to purchasing a car or a second property.

All of this will then help you with other areas that need review, such as investing, insurance and establishing an emergency reserve. Continue ReadingContinue Reading

Jerky display at the Medicine Hat Meat Traders storePost by the Medicine Hat Meat TradersMedicine Hat Meat Traders

On a recent trip to Edmonton to attend a convention sponsored by the Alberta Food Processors Association, a local company found gold. Medicine Hat Meat Traders took home 1st Place for the best Beef Jerky at the bi-annual meat convention. The top award was a great honor to the local company as it enters it’s fourth year of production. Specializing in natural local beef from local producers, MHMT combines great ingredients with professional knowledge to produce this award winning Jerky. At this event they also captured Bronze in all three sausage categories, as well as in two categories for cured hams. Having recently opened a store in the middle of Medicine Hat on Kingsway Avenue, they hope to share the fruits of their labors with old and new customers alike.
